Lance reads lots of sci/fi / fantasy so it makes recommending that type of genre easy for me. I encourage students to try at least 15 pages, to see what if it will keep their attention, if it is of interest or worth pursuing. If it isn't. . . STOP - who has time to read an uninteresting book??
Where to read? Anywhere - never travel without a book - throw one in your purse, your car, your knitting bag. You never know when you will be able to grab a minute to read. Last year, I did family devotions in the car while waiting for the bus. I always have a book with me while waiting at the bus stop to pick kids up. I take one to appointments. Who likes to wait?? Use the time to READ. . .

SO excited you're doing this! Now I can just check in here for my reading list. I was always losing those scraps of paper I wrote down your book suggestions on! I'm ready for my next set!
Hi Gretchen,
I know I sneaked in on this - it was addressed to Mom, but she's not home yet, so I thought I'd see what you thought worthwhile in reading. A couple of great books that I'm working my way through are "What's So Great About Christianity" by Dinesh D'Souza and "Do Hard Things" by the Harris bros. Just finished a Dick Francis one, Alistair McClean. Getting ready to start (again) "The Odessa File" by Forsyth. As you can see, we were at a library sale - all old books. Love,
Dad
Old books are the best. . . I just bought "Do Hard things" for the library - It was on the same suggestion list that I found "Irresistible Revolution" on. . . Interesting.
